The Natural Sciences are relevant to everyone.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects are not always presented in a way that captures the imagination or inspires students to pursue STEM careers, particularly for female and under-represented students.
To address this problem we harness the intellect of the faculty in the College of Natural Sciences. Our faculty are conducting fundamental and applied research relevant to the needs of our society and we collaborate with them to create unique, multidisciplinary, and authentic scientific experiences for students.
The student-centered scientific experiences elicit high-levels of engagement while also integrating mathematics and basic principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability. They help energize aspiring educators, professional educators, and 4th – 12th grade students alike while cultivating scientific literacy and identity.
